Professor Olavo is a dedicated Gracie jiu-jitsu, MMA Coach and a Retired MMA Fighter, who achieved international acclaim in his field. Born in Angola in 1979, he moved to Geneva at the age of 18 and soon after traveled to Brazil to train at the prestigious Gracie Humaita academy.

Over the years, Professor Olavo refined his skills as both a competitor and a teacher, winning numerous international titles and earning his black belt in Gracie jiu-jitsu in 2008 after more than a decade of hard work. In 2014, he opened his first academy, where he began sharing his knowledge and skills with his students with a deep commitment to professionalism and wisdom.

In pursuit of his life’s work, Professor Olavo has moved to Dubai to build Gracie Humaita Dubai, a Gracie Jiu Jitsu gym. With his wealth of experience and expertise, Professor Olavo continues to be a valuable asset to the world of martial arts, and his commitment to excellence is evident in all that he has achieved. He is truly etching his mark into the legacy of Jiu Jitsu as one of the greatest Professors of our time.
